Swing Tips For New Bowlers

There are swing tips for new bowlers which can help develop a sound and fundamental swing motion.

If you are learning the game, these simple swing tips can help you build a consistent swing leading to improved accuracy.

Here are just a few simple tips to try during your practice sessions:

*Tempo - strive to develop an overall swing movement taking the same amount of elapsed time for the full swing to complete the cycle each time you bowl.

*Direction - swing the ball back to the top of the swing about shoulder level and directly behind your bowling shoulder.

This movement sets the swing in position to deliver a forward swing headed to your aim point on the lane.

*Timing - trigger the beginning of your swing movement by moving your bowling ball into your downswing path with your first step of a four step approach or with the second step of a five step approach.

Allow the ball to swing back freely and swiftly to the top of your backswing by eliminating arm tension.

*Release - Allow your bowling hand to exit the ball near or at the very bottom of your forward swing movement and make sure it clears the foul line slightly entering the lane surface at a gradual angle of descent.

*Follow Through - complete your forward swing cycle by following-through with your hand moving toward your aim point on the lane.

Make sure you follow through high enough so the elbow of your bowling arm reaches shoulder height or higher each delivery.

Another key in developing a reliable and consistent swing motion is to accelerate your forward swing and follow through motion. By doing so, you are able to regulate your ball speed as it leaves your hand. Controlling your ball speed is an important key to getting a good ball reaction once you develop a reliable release technique. Follow these simple swing tips for new bowlers and begin to get an improved number of strikes and spare conversions, followed by improved scores.
