20th Teen Masters Rolls Into North Texas October 24 & 25

bowlingball.com 10/8/2015

The 20th Annual Teen Masters Tournament promises to be the best ever; and one of the first qualifying rounds for the 2016 National Championship Finals will be held in the dynamic city of Frisco, future home of the Dallas Cowboys in North Texas. Frisco's Strikz Entertainment Center will host the event.

Saturday and Sunday October 24-25, youth bowlers can test their skills in the only youth tournament where a level playing field is guaranteed. All contestants in the High School and the 14 and Under Divi- sions are required to use two specially made Teen Masters PBA Skill balls during competition, and lane oil pattern will comply with exact TM conditions designed by Kegel to emphasize individual mental and physical ability rather than the size of a bowler's arsenal.

"This event is about what you can do with a bowling ball rather than just having the right ball in your hand at the right time," PBA Deputy Commissioner Kirk Von Krueger told the Bowling News Network in a recent interview. Von Krueger also serves as the Teen Masters Tournament Director for the TM National Finals.

Teen Masters founder and promoter Gary Beck is very excited to launch his 20th annual season in Frisco. The event has squads scheduled for 8:30 each morning, giving bowlers plenty of time to bowl in the Dallas City Tournament which is also scheduled for the weekend of the 24th and 25th.

"I was born and lived in Texas for several years so I know there are many talented bowlers there," said Beck. "We are looking forward to perhaps meeting the next Del or Carolyn Dorin-Ballard or Chris or Lynda Barnes in our 20th season, and what better place to start than Texas?"

$1250 scholarship awards for both the boys and girls champions are guaranteed regardless of entries in the Frisco event. The top 25% will get invitations to bowl in The Teen Masters National Finals to be held July 2-8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Early entry fee is only $49 until Oct.16. On site will be $60.

The 2016 Teen Masters is sponsored by Ebonite, Dexter, the PBA, and the Kegel Training Center. The Frisco event is presented by the Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau and sponsored by Strikz Entertainment Center and Frisco Sports.
