Use Some Knee Flex When You Bowl

If you are losing balance when walking to the foul line, then use some knee flex when you bowl.

Using a slight amount of knee flex is no strain on your legs and definitely helps maintain balance when you bowl.

Here are some benefits to using some knee flex versus walking with stiff legs and no flex in your knees:

1. Knee flex brings the big muscles in your legs into use when taking an approach.

2. Big leg muscles work best when you flex your knees slightly as they help generate power and leverage when delivering your bowling ball.

3. When you knees are flexed as you walk, you avoid abrupt bending at the waist trying to get lower to the lane surface when you release your ball.

4. Your walking tempo becomes very consistent when you use the same knee flex each time you bowl.

5. Flex your knees slightly and add just a little more flex each successive step so you do not have to make a sudden drop into your final slide step when you deliver your ball.
