The easy way to loosen your swing, practice a few shots making slower than normal steps but speed up your backswing to loosen it.
By slowing your steps and speeding and loosening up your backswing, you automatically add an earlier than usual timing sequence.
With a slightly earlier timing sequence than usual, you will have time to wait on your forward swing and avoid grabbing your bowling ball in an effort to hurry your swing and release.
Grabbing your swing and forcing your
release adds tension to your arm muscles and can cause errant shots.
The notion of a “gravity” swing whereby you simply allow your
bowling ball to fall into the downswing without added gripping pressure will prevent forcing your release.
By speeding up the backswing you tend to loosen your arm muscles allowing the ball to swing freely which creates a repeatable overall swing motion and helps you to govern your ball skid distance while also improving accuracy.
