Keep your mind on your bowling game. Avoid allowing your mind to wander when you step onto the approach preparing to bowl.

If you would like a simple and quick tip to help you keep your mind on your game, then take dead aim at your target. That’s right, dead aim!

This notion of dead aim is certainly not a new one but is a powerful tool to keep you focused on keys to making good shots and also focused on your sight target on the lane.

Taking dead aim means making a full commitment to hitting your sight target and to allowing yourself to perform the technique needed for you to make a quality shot in competition.

It is human nature to think our way around physical tasks. Too much emphasis on each and every little movement you make when bowling can force you to take your mind off of the the specific motion you need to execute the shot needed.

By allowing your mind to drift from hitting your target or executing a key movement during your approach not only risks you making a good shot but also risks losing trust in your ability to make good shots when it counts most.

Avoid losing focus of your primary target. Watching your target intensely as you walk and swing your bowling ball helps you keep your head still which, in turn, helps you maintain solid balance when releasing your ball.

Train your brain to place emphasis on keeping your eyes focused sharply on where you intend for your bowling ball to go.

By drawing a bead on your sight target and by placing full commitment to delivering your ball precisely over that target on your intended ball delivery path angle is a key to making good shots repeatedly.

Accuracy in bowling comes from discipline in your physical game fundamentals and from your mental strategy of committing to hitting your target.

You can bet that the pro’s bowling on TV are interested in making a good shot and delivering their bowling ball squarely over their aim point, so why not you?

Another factor in helping you hit your target is to hold your form at the foul line when bowling in competition. Practice the strategy of watching your mark on the lane on each delivery and retain solid body balance as you release your ball. Freeze your form at the foul line until your ball passes your target to ensure you are well balanced during the critical moment you release your bowling ball. Pride yourself in becoming a very accurate bowler by taking dead aim at your sight target.
