Keep your form when bowling under pressure. When you get a little nervous at the start of a meaningful league or tournament competition, focus simply on maintaining good form and retaining balance as you deliver your first important shots.

It is extremely easy to get off your tempo and force poor shots when you are under the gun during your weekly leagues or when bowling in a tournament.

Instead, keep things simple and pay attention to maintaining your natural pace of bowling and hold your form each shot so you get into a rhythm and repeat accurate shots.

Regardless of how skilled you are, pressure causes rushing shots unless you trust your game, trust your swing, and stay in good balance.

Wait on your swing and avoid forcing your release.

It is also very important to keep your head void of unnecessary movement and keeping your spine angle set throughout your approach. In fact, hold your form for a second or two when your bowling ball exits your hand and travels toward your sighting target.

A proven practice drill is to hold your form until your ball contacts the pins. During competition, you really only need to hold your balance and your form until your ball travels 15 or 20 feet after your delivery.

By holding your form in practice until your ball hits the pins, you train yourself to develop an athletic posture so you have the needed balance to hold your form for 3 seconds or so.

Nerves, anxiety, tension, and the stress of performing in in competition are challenges you face in competition.

Learn to overcome pressure by simply focusing on making a well disciplined shot and holding your form after you have delivered your ball.
