How Often Do You Use The Bowling Reset Button?

How often do you use the bowling reset button?

It just so happens that the odds are you press the reset button for a new rack of pins more often in practice than in competition.

If you fall into the trap of constantly pressing the reset button when you do not strike, you waste opportunities to practice shooting spares as well as waste the money you paid for games of bowling. Picking up key spare shots can absolutely make or break a good game. Practicing picking up spares of all sorts is highly encouraged.

If you are so concerned about getting strikes or in hitting the pocket and simply reset the pins repeatedly, you will not be practicing what you will face during competition.

In your league, as example, you would not dare press the reset button if you left the ten pin in the middle of a game. Your teammates might have a beef with you over that move.

Simulate your competitive routine when practicing. Shoot all of your spares and splits left standing and try as hard you can to never miss anything due to carelessness.

Make sure you take the same amount of time preparing to bowl as a pre-shot routine during your practice sessions as you will during league.

Never take any opportunity for granted. Every shot matters.

Take every shot one at a time and never think about what happened earlier or what might happen later but rather stay in the moment and give full attention to the shot you about to take. Avoid getting so frustrated when you do not strike that the emotion carries over into your next shot and you risk a poor delivery. Get every pin you can in practice as in competition. Take dead aim and then relax and bowl.
