If you are an experienced bowler asking how do I stop pushing my bowling swing, then there are some keys to help you free your swing and use less arm tension?

Here are a few tips for simplifying your bowling swing:

*Balance the bowling ball supporting the majority of its weight in your non-bowling hand during your stance position on the approach.

*Make a free and loose backswing to set the tempo of your swing beginning with your push-away movement.

*Maintain consistent gripping pressure on your bowling ball throughout the swing cycle.

*Do not grab at your ball by adding extra gripping pressure at the top of your backswing.

*Avoid hurrying your release on the forward swing.

*Key your ball release as your bowling hand passes by the shoelaces of your sliding step.

*Gradually accelerate your forward swing to a full follow through motion directed at your sighting target.

*Strive to deliver each shot at the same ball speed.

*Strive to loft the ball over the foul line between 6” to 18” distance each shot.

These are quick and simple swing tips to help you stop pushing your bowling swing and allow the forces of gravity to help you swing your bowling ball.

Although these tips seem simplistic, they are reliable techniques proven to work over the years.

Some practice is needed away from league or tournament competitions until you develop trust in these swing keys.

Have some fun and get to the lanes to work on your swing technique.
