How Do I Stop Peeking At the Bowling Pins?

If you are asking how do I stop peeking at the bowling pins, then you are likely taking your eyes off of your spot on the lane and worrying prematurely about the results of your shot?

If you are not keeping a keen eye on your spot on the lane, then you risk missing your delivery path angle and as a result, miss the pocket altogether.

When you think so much about how you are delivering your ball or if you will get strikes, you might be taking your eye off of your sighting target on the lane.

The solution is to focus on your the path your ball will follow down the lane on its way to the pocket and forget about the pins.

Pick your spot somewhere at or near the bowling arrows and keep a sharp eye on the spot in the middle of your ball travel path as your aiming point.

If you peek at the pins before delivering your ball, you are prone to making a poor shot.

It will take somewhere near 2.5 seconds for your ball to travel to the pins so you have plenty of time to watch your ball roll over your spot before looking at the remainder of the ball travelling distance as well as contacting the pins.

Keep your eyes dialed in on your spot and watch your bowling ball the entire distance it travels toward the pins.

By carefully watching your ball travel, you will know if the ball reacts too soon or too late and misses the pocket.

Once you know how your ball is reacting, you can make sensible adjustments.

Take dead aim at your bowling target by maintaining laser-like focus on your bowling spot and then watch your ball travel the remaining distance until it contacts the pins and leaves the pin deck.

Practicing this technique will help you develop awareness of how your ball reacts and will lead to making good adjustments as needed.

As a by-product of good discipline watching your ball and the spot on the lane, you will see surprising improvement in your accuracy.
