Focus On Your Bowling Spot

Are you finding yourself bowling without keeping a keen eye on your mark?
When you think so much about how you are delivering your ball, you might be taking your eye off of your sighting target on the lane.
The solution here is to focus on your bowling spot.
Pick your spot on the lane with as an aiming point and make certain your keep a keen focus on that spot throughout your approach and delivery.
It is so easy to forget about the spot and think instead about your steps or your swing or your release that you forget to pay close attention where you want to deliver the ball.
In baseball we hear coaches tell hitters to keep their eye on the ball. No different here in bowling.
In golf, taking your eyes off of the golf ball and just simply swing in the blind generally results in poor shotmaking and your score will suffer.
Take dead aim at your bowling target by maintaining laser-like focus on your bowling spot.
You will be surprised how your accuracy will improve and your ability to repeat good shots will rise.

Granted that you must base your selection of an appropriate spot on the lane based upon several factors such as the lane oil pattern, your ability to hook the bowling ball, the and the ball reaction itself.
Understanding “lane geometry” is a certain advantage to not knowing where the pins are located on the deck or how the bowling arrows line up with the pins. Knowledge is always an important key to success in any endeavor.
The idea is, however, once you have selected your aiming point, your spot on the lane, focus on your bowling spot and take the guesswork out of the alignment and delivery process.
