Double Up On Your Bowling Strikes

If you want to raise your average, then double up on your bowling strikes.
Getting doubles, two strikes in a row, is a sure way to improve scores if you avoid too many open frames.
Getting doubles means focusing on making a good shot following a strike in the previous frame. Making a good shot means hitting the pocket, in most cases, so you give yourself a fighting chance at getting the elusive double.
Everyone wants to string together strikes and shoot big games. The reality is that you must first get a double before you can get a triple.
Before you can get a four bagger (four strikes in a row) you must first get a three bagger, and so on.
Strings of strikes are really a series of consecutive doubles.
Focusing on a double places less pressure on you as opposed to thinking about getting the seventh strike in a string of strikes because of the high score implications.
The secret is to make one good shot at a time and try to hit the pocket to get the double following any frame where you recorded a strike..

Strategy can be simple. No need to get overly tense trying so hard to continue with stringing strikes but rather just work at getting one more double.
Bowling doubles are your friend.
If you truly wish to raise your average, do what it takes to get the next double. Good scores depend on these doubles.
