Bowlero Purchases The PBA

On September 10th, 2019, Bowlero Corporation announced that after several years of negotiation, they have bought the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). Under this new ownership, both parties hope to bring even more innovative ideas and events to bowling to attract more bowlers and fans alike.

Colie Edison, who is the current Bowlero Corp Chief Customer Officer, will take place as the PBA CEO. PBA Commissioner Tom Clark will remain in his same position. While the two companies will be bringing new ideas to the table, both Edison and Clark have assured fans that the immediate future of bowling with FOX Sports and FloBowling will stay steadfast.

Clark recently did an interview with FloBowling and remarked that just because Bowlero purchased the PBA, this does not necessarily mean that there will be a change to the Pro Tour only bowling in Bowlero centers. He did confirm that the 2020 PBA Pro Tour schedule that was recently released will remain the same.

The purchase of the PBA by Bowlero Corp. truly marks an important moment in bowling history. The partnership of these two bowling powerhouses is a crucial step forward for the sport. Tom Clark said, “They’ve transformed the game for a new generation of competitors and enthusiasts, and with this acquisition we will build on our current momentum and create more opportunities for our players and fans.”
