Bowl With Less Hand And Head Movement

Bowl with less hand and head movement if you face challenging lane conditions where accuracy and ball speed control are at a premium.

Regardless of your most effective delivery technique, learn to have a backup release plan where you use a smooth and clean release method with very little finger rotation so you can effectively control your bowling ball skid distance and, ultimately, your ball reaction.

Develop a smooth bowling release you can trust in the “clutch” when your normal release does not allow your ball reaction to match best with challenging lane conditions.

As a rule of thumb, the tougher condition the oil pattern creates, the more stable you will want your ball motion to be. Unless you are a power players who can overpower a challenging lane condition, use your most consistent and trusted release which avoids sudden or unexpected changes in the ball motion.

Using a reliable release technique on challenging lane conditions is not enough, however, to deliver accurate shots repeatedly.

Balance becomes a physical premium and so does the tempo on your total approach movements.

At this point it is key to understand that relaxing your neck, shoulder, legs, and bowling arm are vital to make pinpoint shots and preserve a reliable ball reaction.

In order to do so, avoid moving your head while walking and swinging your ball.

Your head is a balance point isolating and containing unneeded body movements. Sudden upper body movements which might interrupt an otherwise good shot. The great golfer, Jack Nicklaus, has been quoted as saying “swing around a steady head and you will play good golf.” The same notion works well in bowling also. Avoid any unnecessary head movement and bowl with less hand when facing challenging lane conditions.
